Which Online Mosaic Class is Best for Me?
There is no prerequisite for any of Kasia’s Online Mosaic Classes. A complete beginner, a novice or an intermediate mosaic artist can enjoy a class while learning a new approach to mosaics or improving upon the skills they already have. No matter which class you choose, you get a life-time access to the class website from anywhere in the world and an invitation to a joint learning group on facebook.
- All three classes demonstrate how to use hand tools for precision glass cutting as well as cutting more irregular shapes and circles. The same demos are used for this initial part of the class.
- Each class uses a template based project (no drawing skills required) for walking the students through a mosaic project from start to finish. This is documented with video, supplementary text, photos and diagrams which are arranged into parts and lectures.
- The templates for the base projects were designed with special attention to promote practice of cutting certain shapes and curves to give students a well rounded experience.
- Students who follow along with each class will get to learn how to use hand tools, how to cut various shapes in glass, how to approach choosing a color palette, how to create stencils for a template based project, how to approach cutting out the glass shapes from a sheet of glass, how to best arrange the cut glass into a mosaic, how to use the front mounting tape method for glass mosaics, how to glue and how to grout.
- Each class has lots of do’s and don’t and as well as other tips.
- All students are invited to join a combined facebook group page where they can ask questions and share their projects from class and beyond. Kasia checks in weekly.
Online Mosaic Flower Class
This class includes 12 base flower templates with additional design modifications and backgrounds so there is 24+ total. The sunflower design is the base project used for the core of the class demonstrations that provide the students with a strong foundation in glass mosaics. Even after creating just one flower mosaic projects, students learn enough to tackle their own projects. Some students make 1 flower while others make all 12.
One of the things that makes this class unique is that those students who wanting to keep practicing and developing their skill through the class, there is a lot more content to explore. That’s where the additional project templates come in. Each one promotes practicing cutting different shapes and curves as well as trying out different color palettes. Currently, there are 5 additional lectures, each one using a different template to teach new concepts and offer new tips. Eventually this class will have a seperate lecture for each template and the price will go up accordingly.
